Bodywork and Exterior


New panels fitted around 8 years ago … Both rear quarters (back wings), rear wheel housings, trunk filler panel and Front cowl panel.
The car was given a bare metal respray 8 years ago in Wimbledon White with Guardsman Blue Stripes.
The paintwork is all in excellent order although there is a bit of micro blistering on the drivers side of the bonnet and front wing top. This is hardly noticeable though.
The wheels are American Racing Torque Thrust 2 and have Michelin Pilot Sport Tyres which have only done a couple of hundred miles.
The car has Shelby and GT350 badges and gas cap.

 

Engine


The engine has the original 289 block .. but that, together with the crankshaft are the only stock parts. It has been bored +30 and fitted with a set of Kieth Black hypereutectic pistons. The crank was ground -10 with new bearings. Fitted Eagle I beam rods,  high volume oil pump. Edelbrock Performer RPM cylinder heads with Summit roller rockers. The camshaft is a Comp Cams retro-fit roller cam with hydraulic roller lifters and Ford Racing pushrods. Edelbrock RPM Air gap Intake manifold with Quick Fuel Brawler 650 cfm double pumper carb. MSD Pro billet distributor with AL6 box. Streetdampr balancer. Single wire alternator.  ARP fasteners used throughout.

 

Transmission


The 4 speed Top Loader gearbox has been rebuilt 3 years ago with new bearings and a new, stronger 28 spline output shaft with a Hurst Competition Pro shifter. New flywheel and RAM clutch were fitted together with a new aluminium driveshaft.
The 8 inch rear axle has been fitted with a locking diff and new 4.11 gears.

 

Interior


The seats have been recovered and door cards, dash pad, headliner, sun visors replaced. There is a Shelby dash pod with rev counter and oil pressure gauges, Shelby Moto Lita steering wheel and Shelby wide seat belts. The radio is original but doesn’t work.

 

Other Stuff


The battery has been relocated to the trunk. The brakes are Wilwood disc brakes at the front and the car has had the “Shelby Drop” on the front suspension arms together with 650 lb. springs. It has Koni adjustable shocks all round and a 1 inch front sway bar.  New Flaming River steering box and column fitted together with new pitman arm and upper and lower suspension arms etc.
An aluminium radiator with electric fan has been fitted together with side exit Shelby style glasspack mufflers.
The car has been completely rewired with a custom made wiring harness.

 

The car is now in the UK registered on UK plates with a V5. The car has been in sunny Spain for the past 20+ years that I have owned it for. I have enjoyed both working on it and driving it and has been used on several Costa Blanca rallies and at Valencia circuit. Now I have reluctantly decided that I need to sell the car due to health issues.
